Discipline Policies

Detentions

If a student does not have three (3) homework assignments in a subject, a detention will be issued by the teacher. The date of the detention will be assigned by the teacher.

Demerits

A demerit will be issued for any behavior that a teacher deems inappropriate. Demerits will also be issued for students who are out of uniform. After three demerits, a detention will be served.

Sports

If a student receives a detention he/she will not be permitted to play in the regularly scheduled game immediately following the detention. Only regularly scheduled games, which are on the school calendar can be missed because of the detention. Scrimmages, "Y" games, and games at Penn State do no count as games for the purposes of a detention. If a student leaves school early due to sickness, he/she may not practice that evening. The coaches will be notified.

Quiet zones

The halls and staircases have been designated as "quiet zones." When the students are in these areas, they are to be quiet and always walk single file on the right side of the halls and steps.
